So, I was driving home today from work and I heard this advertisement on the radio for plastic surgery. I hear these all the time so I am not surprised by them anymore (I assume they only advertise this kind of thing in Los Angeles), however on this particular ad they said that the first 25 people who called up and made and appointment to have surgery would be picked up and dropped off by a limo. They made some mention of doing things in "style" or something overly superficial like that.
I guess if you are the kind of person who gets plastic surgery this type of thing would appeal to you, so it makes some amount of sense, but the thought of all this still disgusted me.

There was that one uppercut by Mayorga and the body slam by Jay Nady (pictured here), Everything else was pretty much De la Hoya all the way. He not only outclassed the guy, which was pretty obvious he could do, but he out-muscled him as well. He came out strong in the first round, stood his ground, and knocked Mayorga down with one of his left hooks.
??!?!?!??!?!??!?! Even Tito didn't do that.
I expected a boring fight where he would play it safe but he came out and impressed. Don't get me wrong, the images of him running away from Tito and singing romantic ballads are still a part of my impression of the guy, but I am saying that after what he did to Vargas and now Mayorga you have to respect the guy some.
I hope he fights Margarito and not Mayweather now. I think a Margarito fight would be more exciting. Of course less money, but the guy has enough of that already. I really hope he doesn't pull a Johnny Damon here.

What are your thoughts on this issue?
Not so much from a political point of view (Bush only cares about money, etc.), but from a "how do you really feel about this" point of view.
I for one don't think they should sell it to them, but at the same time think that there are racial undertones to it all. Sooooo, I stand in a grey zone on it.

For all the gringos what happened is that the F.B.I. raided homes in Puerto Rico and claim that the independence movement there was planning "domestic terrorist attacks". For those that don't know, the F.B.I. recently went into Puerto Rico and killed one of the leaders of this movement(Los Macheteros). They gunned him down in his house and then left him there to die. They waited all night, until he bled to death literally, before they went in. Obviously, people were enraged by this and the movement began to pick up steam again. So, all these raids really say is "Be careful We are watching you". I find it pretty ridiculous that they are using this "terrorist" jargon on Puerto Rico now as well. They have really found a formula they are sticking with.
Hey, the good majority of us have darker skin than the average American and our hair isn't strait, so all of those Bush voters will most likely take this as something serious.

I am often asked what sport I like to watch, and I always say "Only boxing". Besides the obvious fact that there is something interesting about two people engaging in combat in a skillful manner, there is also the fact that the people boxing can never change who they are. The boxer has no choice but to represent himself and where he is from. There is no being offered more money to change his name and his identity. This is the aspect that I think boxing really holds over all other sports.

Take the Johnny Damon situation for example. The guy plays for the Red Sox, builds up a fan base, wins a World Series, and is now playing for the Red Sox' arch nemesis the New York Yankees. How do you take this as a Red Sox fan, and as a Yankee's fan how do you all of the sudden start liking the guy that had a part in that 4 game comeback series where your team was humiliated?

Look at the difference in this guys appearance already! If they are making the young urbanites in the NBA dress in business-like attire, I say the MLBA should force the Yankees to stop dressing like faggots. It sends the wrong message to the kids.

Soooo, this is a scheme for an ice rink that I am currently working on. I had a meeting with the structural engineer today, and he told me that the roof that I am proposing will not work. Since we have such a big span (it is an ice rink after all) we need more solid area in order to have it act as a real diaphram. The big rule of thumb is that you take half the length of the span divide it by two and that is how long the diaphram needs to be. Now I knew this before hand but choose not to acknowlege it while coming up with the design.
I told him to work it out.

It has been reported that at age 59, Sylvester Stallone will be going one more round as Rocky Balboa in the new film of the same name. Shooting is set to begin in Philadelphia later this year. In the film, Rocky is now widowed and aging. A video game company has created a new game in which you can pit the current Heavyweight Champion, the fictional “Mason ‘The Line’ Dixon”, against classic fighters from the past. Players find that they can beat the Champ if they use Rocky as their fighter. Apparently, this sets up a “charity match” between the Rock and Dixon, who is insulted by the fact that he can be beaten by Rocky. What happens next is anyone’s guess!

Stallone will star with the only other confirmed casting, Burt Young as his Brother in Law, Paulie. It has been reported that Talia Shire’s character Adrian has passed away, but maybe in the film in flashback scenes.

Rumors have been circulating that either Roy Jones Jr. or Antonio Tarver are being considered to play “Mason Dixon”. No casting has been confirmed as of this writing.

Ok so now after a bit of time the truth about Ojeda's death really starts to come out. Word is that the FBI came in shooting and let the guy bleed to death.
I really don't know how they can botch an arrest of a 70+ year old to this extent. There were no negotiations or anything of this nature, as is the case when a house is surrounded by the police. They just surround the house, shoot 100 rounds, and let someone bleed to death after a sniper gets off a shot.

Throwing some trigger happy rednecks into the mix in New Orleans seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
While I am on the redneck subject, I saw a special on the National Geographic channel yesterday called "Hogzilla". The condensed version of the story is this, some guy (an Anglo of course) was in the woods and comes across a hog that is reportedly 12'-0" long 1000lbs heavy. So, the first thing that comes to his mind (as it typically does in all Anglo's mind) is "Dang! That there hog is different. I'm gon' shoot it."
After the scientist come and unearth the thing it turns out that it was only 8'-0" long and most likely only weighed about 800lbs. I don't know but if you ask me that still makes it worthy of a name like "Hogzilla".
Anyway, if you get a chance watch this program. It will make you laugh. It will make you cry. It will make you glad you don't live in a place with people like those featured on the show.

I finally got a chance to get on a computer where I can download a picture so this is the one I am posting.
(Here is the story associated with it.)
This was taken our last full day in Venice, which also was our last day in Italy. When this was taken we had been in Sicily and Italy approximately 3 and half weeks strait. Needless to say I was a little tired of eating pasta and seafood. Well believe it or not right smack in the heart of tourist central Venice there is a Burger King. Now those of you that know me know that few other American culinary masterpieces hit my taste buds quite like the Whopper does and this one was no exception. I doubled that puppy up, jammed my fries in it like usual, and topped it of with a beer.
Even the heartburn that nearly crippled me the following day could not take me off of the high that this Whopper put me on.
Oh yeah, I am engaged.

So I am trying to brush up on my history since I am out here in Europa and came across this diddy on the Roman Empire,

I have never understood this, the U.S. wants everyone else to give up nuclear weapons but they want to keep developing them. They are so against nuclear weapons that they justified a war based on the assumption that someone was developing this type of technology.
That fat drunken Kennedy asked a good question when he asked:
"What moral authority do we have to ask others to give up their nukes if we're determined to develop a new generation of nuclear weapons of our own?"
The answer you fat bastard is, this country has no moral authority at all. That 'moral' authority went out the window when people started dying for false intelligence. I hate to come down on the guy but this is pretty sad. I think the guy really started to fall apart after the ear biting incident. The people around him take complete advantage of his fragile mental state to make money. If he had a real friends they would have told him to stop making a spectacle of himself after he took a chunk out of Holyfield's ear. By letting him do this he now puts himself on a level that is inhabited by the likes of Butterbean.
I know the guy has his faults but seeing the Heavyweight Champion of my youth fall down to this level makes me feel really old, and it makes me sad for him.

The government has really overstepped it's role in this situation. Developers should definitely not be given the ability to go in and take a piece of land by force. It is basically like O'Connor said, the rich influential developers will now have the ability to go in anywhere and prove that by putting a hotel, strip mall, etc. it will benefit the property value of the area. Obviously by placing an upscale element in an region the surrounding lands start to show an increase in value, but they do not take into account the current population or their wishes for the land that they own. What will happen here is what is happening in most inner cities that are being developed. You bring in a 'Gap' and then all of the sudden you get a 'J Crew" and then a 'Quizno's' etc., etc. Before you know it the whole town has been taken over by corporations. Any small business that may have existed has now been pushed out. Now developers can see property that they want and acquire it by force through legal means. This is pretty outrageous. Out of all the developers I have dealt with, I have never come across one that is thinking in terms of the community's good. They solely think in terms of dollars. To give people with this mindset the authority to build at will is a puzzling thing to do. If the government takes a piece of land to eliminate blight it is one thing, after all in the past they had to show that it would benefit the community in a tangible way, but to let developers come in and take land to benefit their own pocket is something all together different. It really shows how the government is working primarily for the rich class, which just happens to be the minority.

Gatti vs. Mayweather

I would love it if I were wrong on this one, but I see Gatti being thoroughly dominated by the much more talented Mayweather. From the sound of things Gatti and his people think they are going to be able to out-box Mayweather, which is a huge mistake in my opinion. If he doesn't get in there and outmuscle Pretty Boy Floyd I see a very long night for Gatti with him getting stopped late.

I went to this exhibit in SCI-arc and I thought it sucked. I could see how this may have looked good on the computer, but when constructed the detailing was horrible. Hopefully with a bigger budget the guy can have this ps1 scheme look half as decent as what it looks like on the computer.

I was talking to a South Korean guy at work about Pyongyang and the guy laid a story on me so incredible that I couldn't believe him. It is such an outrageous claim that I couldn't even take him serious. He said that when he was a young kid 'The Don' kidnapped his favorite South Korean actress and kept her prisoner in North Korea for 10 years. Needless to say I figured that this was something the older south Koreans told their children to cement the hatred of their northern brothers. Really, think about how outrageous that claim is.

Well, we were both wrong. It turns out that Pyongyang did kidnap the actress along with her director husband but he only kept them for 8 years.
